About Steeper

Steeper Group is a British prosthetics, orthotics and assistive technology company based in Leeds. Its about page states that Hugh Steeper Limited became an operating company on 23 March 1921. The group makes upper limb and lower limb prosthetic products, orthoses and custom silicone products, supplies accessible technology and runs clinical services. Its site lists prosthetics and orthotics centres, including centres providing NHS services and a private centre in London, and a distributor network for its upper limb products.

The catalog lists three Steeper products under upper limb and pediatric prosthetics: the Myo Kinisi myoelectric hand, the Espire Elbow range and the Junior Myo hand. Upper limb prostheses are prescribed, fitted and set up by a prosthetist, who also makes the socket and chooses the electrodes, wrist and battery system. A component price is therefore only part of the total cost. When asking for a quote, expect to be referred to a clinic or to the distributor for your country.
