The CYBERDYNE Medical HAL Lower Limb Type is a wearable robot exoskeleton that picks up bio-electrical signals on the wearer's skin and assists the hip and knee in step with the movement the person intends. The double-leg unit weighs about 13 to 14 kg and the single-leg unit about 9 kg. Models HAL-ML05 and HAL-ML08 fit users of 150 to 190 cm and 40 to 100 kg.
For hospitals and clinics treating gait impairment, with spinal cord injury, stroke and neuromuscular disorders among the conditions CYBERDYNE names. It is supplied to facilities and not rented to individuals. Therapy is delivered by trained clinical staff.
