Mobility scooters

Last updated: 5 October 2026 · Total: 13 products

Scooters are sorted here by size. Travel and portable models such as the Pride Go Go Elite Traveller 2 and Golden Buzzaround EX come apart into a few pieces that one person can lift into a car boot. Folding scooters close in one piece, some at the press of a button. Mid-size scooters like the Invacare Orion Metro have bigger batteries, suspension and lights for regular outdoor use. Heavy-duty models carry more weight, sit higher off the ground and handle rougher paths, at the cost of size and a wider turning circle.

How to choose

  • Three wheels turn tighter and give more leg room, while four wheels feel steadier on kerbs and slopes.
  • Ask for the weight of the heaviest single piece after dismantling, since that is what you will lift.
  • Check local rules, because larger road-class scooters may be limited to roads or need registration in some countries.
  • Make sure you can reach and hold the tiller comfortably for the length of your usual trip.

Common questions

Can I take a mobility scooter on a plane?

Often yes, but each airline sets its own conditions, especially for lithium batteries. Give the airline the scooter's dimensions, weight and battery type and rating well before you fly and get approval in writing.

Do I need a licence to drive a mobility scooter?

In many countries no licence is required for low-speed scooters used on pavements, but rules on speed, age, registration and insurance differ. Check the regulations where you live or plan to travel.
