Every powered chair, scooter and drive unit depends on its battery pack. Sealed lead-gel batteries such as the MK Battery M22NF are the long-standing standard: heavy, maintenance-free and usually fitted in pairs. Lithium batteries, for example the Dakota Lithium 12V 46Ah LiFePO4, store the same energy at much lower weight. Some devices use their own packs, like the Alber e-fix E35 spare battery. Chargers such as the Lester Electrical 24V 8A must suit the voltage, the battery chemistry and the charging socket of the vehicle.

Service life depends on chemistry, depth of discharge and charging habits. Regular full charges and avoiding deep discharge extend it. Falling range on a familiar route is the usual sign that replacement is due.
Sometimes, but not freely. The charger, the controller settings and the chair maker's approval all matter, and the lighter weight can change stability. Check with the manufacturer or a technician before converting.
