The Creating Ability Basic Seat is an adaptive paddling seat that mounts in a kayak or canoe and supports the trunk at several points. Each support can be tilted, moved or taken off on its own, so the seat gives as little or as much hold as the paddler needs. The pads are closed-cell foam under breathable mesh. Bases attach with two screws and are made for several kayak brands.
For paddlers with limited trunk control or balance, for example with spinal cord injury or cerebral palsy, who need side and back support to sit upright in a boat. Adaptive paddling programmes use it because one seat adjusts to many people.
