Origin Instruments Sip/Puff Switch: common questions

Can the Origin Instruments Sip/Puff Switch drive a wheelchair?

Not by itself. It provides two switch outputs for computer and AAC access. Driving a power chair by breath needs a dedicated drive interface from the chair's electronics maker.

Does the Sip/Puff Switch need batteries?

The standard switch is passive and needs no batteries or external power. The Breeze version takes its power from the USB port it is plugged into.

What is the difference between the headset and gooseneck versions?

The headset is a padded, adjustable frame worn on the head with a 6 ft air tube. The gooseneck is a flexible steel arm that clamps to a table, bed or wheelchair.
