The Yamaha JWX-2 is a power-assist wheelchair wheel kit that senses force on the handrims and adds motor power from two 24 V, 110 W servomotors. It draws on Yamaha's electric bicycle technology. Range is about 18 km with the Ni-MH battery or 27 km with the Li-ion one, and the kit is splash resistant to IPX4.
For manual chair users with reduced propulsion strength who want to travel further on their own, indoors and out. The maker gives a maximum safe slope of 6 degrees and a load capacity of 130 kg.
