JAY is the seating and positioning brand of Sunrise Medical. The JAY page on Sunrise Medical's site says its design engineers have produced clinical positioning seating since 1983. The range consists of wheelchair cushions, such as the Fusion, J2 series, Union, Ion, Easy, GO and Basic, and wheelchair backs, such as the J3, Zip and GO. Some cushions use the company's JAY Flow fluid. Sunrise Medical lists JAY alongside its Quickie, Zippie and RGK brands.
The catalog lists JAY under seat cushions and under backrests, postural supports and headrests. Examples are the Union Cushion, Basic Cushion, J3 Back, Adjustable Drop Seat and a replacement cover for the JAY 2 cushion. Cushions and backs are ordered by width and depth, and often by contour or cover type, so those figures are needed for a quote. Choosing a cushion for skin protection or posture is a clinical decision, so ask a therapist or seating specialist to recommend the model and size.
