FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment front wheel
The FreeWheel Wheelchair Attachment is a large front wheel that clamps to the footrest of a rigid-frame wheelchair. Once on, it raises the small casters clear of the ground, so the chair rolls as a three-wheeler over rough surfaces. The frame and fork are aluminium. After a first setup of about 15 minutes it goes on and off in seconds, and it stores on a perch behind the chair.

For rigid-frame manual chair users who want to cross grass, gravel, dirt trails, sand or snow without the casters digging in. It does not work with flip-up footplates. Folding chairs need the separate adaptor.

Will the FreeWheel fit my wheelchair?
It is made for rigid frames with a fixed footrest no higher than 4-3/4 inches and angled no more than 12 degrees. Higher footplates need a custom frame. Flip-up footplates are not compatible.
Can the FreeWheel be used on a folding wheelchair?
Not directly. The maker sells a separate adaptor that lets the FreeWheel attach to folding-frame chairs.
