VARILITE is a line of wheelchair seating made in Reno, Nevada by the medical division of Cascade Designs, Inc. The company describes its cushions as using Air-Foam Floatation, a construction that combines air and foam in a lightweight cushion. The range includes the Evolution and Meridian cushions and their Wave versions, the Icon back systems, junior sizes, lateral supports, hip belts and other positioning accessories. The products are distributed through dealers, sales representatives and international distributors.
The catalog lists three VARILITE items under seat cushions and backrests: the Evolution Wave cushion, the Icon Back System Low and a replacement cover for the Evolution/PSV cushion. Cushions and backs are ordered by width and depth to match the chair, and the choice of model is normally guided by a seating assessment. When asking for a quote, give the seat width and depth, the back cane width for a back system, and the cover fabric you want. The founding year was not stated on the pages checked.
