Ottobock FreeWalk 170K1 mechanical stance-control KAFO

Last updated: 5 October 2026

The Ottobock FreeWalk 170K1 stance-control KAFO is a slim, purely mechanical knee-ankle-foot orthosis. The knee joint locks by itself as the leg swings forward before the foot comes down, then unlocks so the leg can swing freely on the next step. The frame is steel with quick-release closures and is slim enough to wear under normal clothes. The standard model takes a patient weight of up to 80 kg.
